TREO PORT LAIRGE CLG
Treo provides a community-based programme that addresses the needs of
people aged from * years who have demonstrated
offending behaviour. Some are at risk of further criminal involvement
arising from their behaviour and associations, others are on probation
or have served custodial sentences.
The project endeavours to positively challenge offending behaviour
through the provision of a structured and supportive mentoring and
guidance programme. It aims to maximise the young people’s access to
appropriate and useful training, education and development programmes
through mediating and negotiating with existing responses where
appropriate, and through the design and implementation of initiatives
where no current relevant provision exists.
The project offers a model of engagement to participants, which meets
the young person where he or she is at when first contact is made. The
development of the programme involves facilitating the young person
through a process, which enables him/her to identify his/her own
needs.
